I had a great opportunity

When I resigned from my ex-company I was really confused about my decision of leaving Info2cell to work for ProgressSoft. Once, when my manager was discussing my decision of leaving, I told him -joking- if he could let me make my last decision after working there for a month. Unexpectedly, he refused :D

After one and a half months of leaving Info2cell alot of resignations took place there, my manager was one of those who resigned, and the development department there lost many good employees.
These circumstances led the company to have outsourcing in a local company which is managed by my ex-team leader in Info2cell who resigned a week before I did.
The great thing is that after the new changes in Info2cell, I was asked to work with them again with a new offer, YAY.
Without alot of thinking about it I refused to -and that doesn't mean the Info2cell is a bad company, but it means that ProgressSoft is a great one-.

The great thing is that I won't ever in my life regret leaving, since I had the opportunity to make my decision after working for the two companies.
Isn't that great, thanks God for this opportunity.

Heat

Before a couple of months I was extremely confused about leaving Info2cell to start a new career in Progress Soft.
That time, deep inside me I knew that working for Progress Soft would give me a better experience, and better start for my career. On the other hand, I knew that I would not be as comfortable as I was in Info2cell (at least not at the beginning).
Amazingly, that was so true :)

For now, I'm so pleased that almost everything gone as I expected (that proves that I'm always right ;) )
One thing I did not expected; here in progressSoft THEY DO NOT TURN ON THE AIR CONDITION.


For some problems in electricity, every time they turn on the air conditions the electricity goes down.

If you don't know, the temperature these days in Amman is around 40° C


I really can't handle it anymore.
The company is doing there best to solve the problem, but nothing was done until now.

New Job, New Experience

Today would be my first day to work at Progress Soft.
After long thinking I finally decided to leave Info2cell, which I'm so sad to do. I like it there, I made alot of friends, and almost everything is great.

After less than 2 hours, I'll be on my disk at Progress Soft. I'm more worried than excited, I know that today I can't tell weather I've took the right decision or not.

Tuff decision, really tuff

Last week I had an offer from a company to work for, that offer was really good.
Working for it would give me an excellent start in my career path; the first few weeks they would give me simple tasks to find out my weak points, and to strengthen me in those.
And up to my knowledge, they follow some rules in there work (in designing, coding, ...), and they have a professional atmosphere.
I'm not saying that it is perfect, but it is a very good IT company

The problem is that I'm currently working for a good company too, which is the first company to work for in my career (I've been here for four months).
I'm so satisfied here; I made a lot of friends here, and I'm appreciated here.

Last Wednesday I have signed the contract with the new company, to start working for them at the first of July, and at Thursday I send my resignation request.
My manager called me, and my resignation request was discussed. He promised me to have a high raise at the next evaluation (which will take place after less than 6 months), this raise would be between 43% - 57% of my current salary.
The manager said that we have some problems in the company and they are being solved now, and he asked me to think again in my decision.

Thinking, thinking, thinking...
Grrrrrrr, I'm so comfortable here, but working for the other company would give me a better experience, and better salary (but the salary is not really a decisive factor)

I'm really confused, any advice...

J2ME Vs Web

Last week I asked my manager to work as a web programmer instead of my current position as a J2ME programmer, it was a hard decision for me to make.
The good new is that I'll stay in the Java field... I'm a loyal Javanese :)

The headlines were:
*I liked programming in J2ME, but web is the mode nowadays.
*J2ME is limiting me because of its limits, but nothing is limiting web.
*We have a very low load on J2ME and I get bored most of the time at work.

So, I hope that I'm taking the right decision.

My new work

I have started my very first work as a junior J2ME programmer in a respectable company named Info2Cell (Information to cellular, I guess)


I started work there at 4 Feb. 2007, after about 10 days of my graduation project discussion at the university (The Hashemite University).
Every thing is great at the company but two things:
1. I have been there for about 3 weeks and I haven't started working on something serious yet, hey, you are killing me out there, Grrrrrrrrr.
2. My chair is making an annoying sound.

God help me.
